Hazelnut Energy Bars
This was one of the first-ever recipes I created and still to this day, it's one of my favorites! I used to make these to replace my store-bought chocolate bar addiction years ago. Made from pure organic plant-based ingredients, you can't go wrong.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups of raw almonds
1 1/4 cups of raw hazelnuts
2 cups of dates (soak in warm water for 15mins prior)
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup cacao powder
1/4 tsp sea salt
Directions
1. Combine almonds and hazelnuts in your food processor or high powered blender on high until it resembles a fine meal.
2. Add dates and process until the mixture is sticky.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and process on high until well mixed.
4. Remove mixture and press into a baking tray lined with baking paper.
5. Place in the freezer for 1 hour and then slice into bars.
